About Us
Welcome to Edward Horace Johnson Leadership Academy (EHJLA), Home of the Lethal Lions! We are pleased to share information about our school, where we value faith, excellence, and leadership! The Edward Horace Johnson Leadership Academy (EHJLA) is an academically rigorous, private Christian school dedicated to providing high-quality, faith-based education for students in the City of Raleigh in an exclusive learning environment designed to produce leaders in industry within our community.
Edward Horace was established in 2024 to address the growing concern over the inadequate education and preparation of public school students for productivity in society. Our school serves students from 6th grade through 12th grade, offering a comprehensive educational experience that integrates intense academic instruction with spiritual development, character formation, and co-curricular enrichment.
At the heart of our educational philosophy is the belief that each child is uniquely created in the image of God, possessing inherent worth, purpose, and potential, which is supported by our staff, curriculum, and policies.
FOCUS
At EHJLA, "we nurture conservative leaders rooted in America's founding values, interconnecting the conservative approach to domestic and global Education, Economics, Politics, Social Order, and Religion to transform communities.
Mission
Edward Horace Johnson Leadership Academy (EHJLA) exists to help students understand and thoughtfully engage with the Conservative political, economic, and social issues shaping their world. We prepare young people to step into leadership in their communities and beyond, not only by teaching major events in world history, but also by using modern, research-based approaches like SA(2)IM that connect learning to real life. In doing so, we highlight how today’s social and political forces influence education and underscore the vital role of Science, Technology, Engineering, and
Mathematics (STEM) in building a strong future.
Vision-I: (Grades 6–8)
We highlight a safe, structured environment where students are known by name, grow in character, and build strong foundations in reading and writing. Through age-appropriate study of our five civic pillars—Education, Economics, Politics, Social Order, and Religion—students begin to see how ideas, choices, and communities fit together.
Vision-II: (Grades 9–12)
We challenge students academically, especially in classical U.S. history and government, while preparing them for life after graduation. Courses, AP and dual-enrollment options, and leadership experiences are all designed to get students ready for college, service, or the trades, firmly rooted in traditional American values.
